The Physics Forceps® are an atraumatic extraction system that provides a simple, predictable and unconventional method of extracting teeth regardless of a practitioner’s extraction experience, or the condition of the tooth, while providing a positive patient experience.

The Physics Forceps® operate as an elevator, rather than forceps, using first-class lever mechanics. One handle is connected to a "bumper," which acts as the fulcrum, that is placed deep in the vestibule. The other handle is connected to the "beak," which is positioned most often on the lingual or palatal root of the tooth into the gingival sulcus. No aspect of the instrument grasps the crown and there is no advanced elevation needed. Once the instrument is properly placed, the handles are rotated a few degrees with only wrist movement in a slow, steady and controlled manner — no squeezing!

The Physics Forceps® are effective in most cases, including badly decayed or broken down teeth, endodontically treated teeth, fractured or fragile teeth, curved or long rooted molars and cuspids, or any tooth that would historically be challenging with conventional instrumentation. The Physics Forceps® are ideal for implantologist that wants to preserve the surrounding bone and tissue in preparation for dental implants.

Anesthesia sedation: What to expect

Some procedures do not require full anesthesia. In these cases, sedation is used to keep you comfortable and relaxed during your procedure. You may be aware or have memories of a procedure done under sedation, and this is normal. In some cases, it is necessary to change from sedation to full general anesthesia.

After your procedure, you will be taken to the recovery area where a nurse will monitor you as you continue to emerge from anesthesia. Do not make any important decisions for at least 24 hours after any type of anesthesia.

Wisdom Tooth Extraction (LL8)/ wisdom tooth removal surgery video /3rd molar by Specialist Oral Surgeon Dr.Indraniil Roy
This is a video of impacted teeth removal. The patient was having severe pain in her tooth and was searching for an emergency dentist near her place in Dubai,Ajman,UAE.As this surgery is usually performed by oral surgeons, she was referred to me.She was worried about wisdom teeth removal pain when she arrived and had read a lot about it on google and youtube. She also mentioned that she had undergone a tooth extraction before and was terrified of the same. She had developed pericoronitis with the tooth.Patient was given preop antibiotics and the impacted wisdom teeth removal for this emergency patient was finished in about 10 minutes. As pericoronitis was present preop, post op antibiotics were prescribed as well.Silk sutures were used for closure.

This wisdom tooth removal surgery video is a short clip on how to remove impacted 3rd molars cleanly

If impacted wisdom teeth are not managed by an experienced dentist/oral surgeon, mny complications with the similar surgery have been reported.Wisdom tooth infection can spread rapidly to a space infection if not managed correctly.

Dentistry by Dr. Tim Kosinski. Atraumatic extraction of lower molar #18 utilizing the Physics Forceps lower universal forcep from Golden Dental Solutions (Dr. Richard Golden), the inventors and manufacturers of the Physics Forceps. Depending on access, posterior physics forceps may have to be used on 2nd and 3rd molars. In this case, the standard series lower universal Physics Forceps was used since the tooth was accessible. Note, we recommend to use the bumper guards on the forcep, which was not used in this case.
