Guided surgery for tooth #28 using a 3d printed guide designed in the Blue Sky Bio software
Here is a wisdom tooth removal that I completed in 44 seconds start to finish!
Wisdom teeth extractions aren't always as difficult as you picture. This patient had pain that we were able to relieve extremely quickly. We called her the following day and she had a lot of relief, and then she called the following day to say that her pain was almost completely gone.
This is a very satisfying treatment to be able to offer someone to get them out of pain.

What could be worse than a root canal? A lot of things! The root canal is probably one of the most misunderstood dental procedures performed today, and is thought to be incredibly painful with lasting side effects. Not true! A root canal is an endodontic procedure used to repair and save an abscessed or decayed tooth. During this interactive root canal, you will isolate the tooth and clean the tooth's root canal with a special file. After irrigating the area to clean it thoroughly, you will fill the cavity with a rubber compound known as gutta-percha and seal it off. When finished, you will learn how to avoid tooth decay and dental disease in the future. That doesn't sound bad, does it? Scrub in and let's get started!
Scaling and root planing are different forms of treatment for periodontitis periodontitis (or pyorrhea or gum disease).
In this 3D animation from Clínica Médico Dental Pardiñas (http://j.mp/cPardinas) we talk about the diagnosis and treatment of periodontitis (pyorrhea) by performing scaling and root planing.
It shows how plaque and tartar will accumulate around the teeth and how it is removed using different instruments, thus returning the gum to a healthy state.
Here we can see the process of probing, one of the elements used to diagnose periodontal disease. The greater the measure, the greater is the existing periodontal pocket.
The progressive accumulation of plaque and tartar causes that the resorption of the bone that supports the teeth. Gums will show signs of inflammation and bleeding, among others. Once the accumulated plaque mineralizes, it becomes tartar, which can no longer be removed with regular brushing.
To remove tartar, curettes and ultrasound devices that are introduced below the gum are used. Polishing tools can also be used to polish the tooth surface. The gingiva in the absence of plaque and tartar will no longer be inflamed and will return to a healthy state.
This can originate retractions.
In a side view we can see the same process of scaling and root planing and the posterior healing of the gums.

Watch Dr. Craig Adams of Poulsbo Animal Clinic step-by-step as he extracts an upper 4th premolar from a dog named Riley.
I removed 2 x wisdom tooth! 🦷🦷 I was worried since it has been a long time since I last removed any tooth. It wasn't painful at all (thanks to local anaesthetic).
I extracted in Khoo Teck Puat Hospital (KTPH) dental clinic, and it cost $130 for 2 teeth. It is classified as "Extraction Complexity I", which I suppose is the easiest surgery. There is NO hammering nor stitching.
On the day before, I watched a terrifying video, which is probably for complex cases. FYI only https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8mk8I3tTod8
With anaesthetic, you won't feel anything either way.
0:00 Day of removal, why I did it
2:16 After removal, how it goes
4:06 Extraction process
The numb goes away in a few hours. There will be some blood in mouth on the first day, but the following day, it clotted fully and no more blood. Doesn't affect my diet, and I don't miss the 2 teeth at all 😂
REASONS WHY I REMOVE WISDOM TOOTH:
1. Gonna do braces and need the space as they are overcrowded
2. I have the upper molar WITHOUT the lower, so they are useless
3. Hard to brush/floss, so they're always dirty
4. To avoid possible gum infection or decay in the future

Wisdom Tooth Removal in Amarillo TX | Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery of the Panhandle Region - http://panhandleoralsurgery.com
Wisdom teeth, or Third molars, are an additional set of teeth, which grow under the surface of the gums and, in many cases, are undetectable without proper x-ray evaluation or 3-D scanning. It is not uncommon for teens and adults to be unaware that these wisdom teeth exist in their mouth until they begin to present significant problems. In some cases, the third molars may fully grow into the mouth or partially grow into the mouth and additional issues may arise. Unfortunately, the majority of people do not have a long enough jaw bone or a large enough mouth to accommodate these teeth. Wisdom tooth removal by a licensed Oral and Maxillofacial surgeon will provide the highest quality surgical expertise for the surgical process.
As an oral and maxillofacial surgeon, Dr. Bryan Bailey at Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery of the Panhandle Region manages a variety of issues relating to the mouth, gums, teeth, and general facial region. Wisdom teeth are the final set of teeth to grow in the mouth and usually reach full development by a patient’s early twenties. At Hill & Ioppolo Oral & Dental Implant Surgery of Lubbock, our oral surgeons specialize in extracting teeth and have years of training and experience.
