Wisdom Tooth Removal in Amarillo TX | Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery of the Panhandle Region - http://panhandleoralsurgery.com
Wisdom teeth, or Third molars, are an additional set of teeth, which grow under the surface of the gums and, in many cases, are undetectable without proper x-ray evaluation or 3-D scanning. It is not uncommon for teens and adults to be unaware that these wisdom teeth exist in their mouth until they begin to present significant problems. In some cases, the third molars may fully grow into the mouth or partially grow into the mouth and additional issues may arise. Unfortunately, the majority of people do not have a long enough jaw bone or a large enough mouth to accommodate these teeth. Wisdom tooth removal by a licensed Oral and Maxillofacial surgeon will provide the highest quality surgical expertise for the surgical process.
As an oral and maxillofacial surgeon, Dr. Bryan Bailey at Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery of the Panhandle Region manages a variety of issues relating to the mouth, gums, teeth, and general facial region. He practices a full scope of oral and maxillofacial surgery with expertise in wisdom teeth removal, tooth/teeth extractions, various dental implant procedures, corrective jaw surgery (orthognathic surgery), oral pathology, and bone grafting. We provide surgery services to Amarillo, TX, and surrounding Panhandle region of Texas. He is an expert in numerous aspects of facial surgery including facial trauma and reconstructive surgery, dental implants, bone grafting, and orthognathic surgery.

Bone Grafting After Tooth Extraction in Boise ID | Boise Oral Surgery & Dental Implant Center - https://boiseoralsurgery.com
A bone graft is necessary to restore the foundation of the dental arch where the bone is too sparse. During a bone grafting procedure, an oral surgeon can place a bone graft material to restore the size and shape of the jaw. Over time, the bone graft material integrates with the existing bone, which restores the facial structure and creates a secure foundation to place dental implants. A bone graft is a versatile treatment option and can restore a single tooth socket, a large area of bone where multiple teeth are missing, or even increase the size of the bone between the mouth and the sinus cavities. Depending on your needs, the bone grafting material used can be from your body or a tissue bank. Once the bone grafting material has integrated with existing bone, the jaw bone is ready for dental implant placement.
Sometimes the only way to prevent further oral problems is by removing the affected tooth or teeth. Severe dental decay, gum disease, facial injuries, or other conditions that can cause damage are common reasons for tooth extraction, which is a common procedure in our office at Fresno Oral Maxillofacial Surgery & Dental Implant Center. Tooth extractions by a skilled oral surgeon allow the problem teeth to be removed and eliminate any signs of infection.

Another case successfully treated with the SURGIC TOUCH piezosurgery unit.
This time a mesio-angular impacted wisdom tooth.
The piezosurgery allows for a minimally invasive approach to 3rd molar extractions since the tips can be safely used alongside soft tissue flaps. And saline irrigation removes debris and blood around the working area immediately.
If you have an abscessed tooth, that means the pulp of tooth is infected and you need root canal therapy. Fortunately, with proper care, a restored tooth can last a lifetime. Find out more about what causes an abscessed tooth and how your dentist can provide effective treatment.
This video is a comprehensive guide for anyone who is about to have a tooth extracted or just had one extracted. It includes information that relates to both simple extractions and extractions with bone grafting. In this video you will gain information on the following subjects: (1) What to expect after an extraction, (2) What NOT to do after an extraction, (3) What you SHOULD do after an extraction, and (4) What your diet should look like after your extraction. I hope this helps you all to a fast and healthy recovery!
Extraction of a vertically impacted lower wisdom tooth with an elevator only. Do not apply the elevator between the second molar and third molar to avoid damage to the distal of second molar during the extraction of the third molar. The hardest bone and the best place for fulcrum for the elevator is on the buccal or distobuccal of the third molar crown.
Straight forward case.
In this one, I demonstrate how to section the tooth in to separate roots. Also, discuss when to opt for this as opposed to other strategies.
