Wisdom Tooth Removal in Amarillo TX: Kristen | Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery of the Panhandle Region - http://panhandleoralsurgery.com

Wisdom teeth, or Third molars, are an additional set of teeth, which grow under the surface of the gums and, in many cases, are undetectable without proper x-ray evaluation or 3-D scanning. It is not uncommon for teens and adults to be unaware that these wisdom teeth exist in their mouth until they begin to present significant problems. In some cases, the third molars may fully grow into the mouth or partially grow into the mouth and additional issues may arise. Unfortunately, the majority of people do not have a long enough jaw bone or a large enough mouth to accommodate these teeth. Wisdom tooth removal by a licensed Oral and Maxillofacial surgeon will provide the highest quality surgical expertise for the surgical process.

As an oral and maxillofacial surgeon, Dr. Bryan Bailey at Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery of the Panhandle Region manages a variety of issues relating to the mouth, gums, teeth, and general facial region. He practices a full scope of oral and maxillofacial surgery with expertise in wisdom teeth removal, tooth/teeth extractions, various dental implant procedures, corrective jaw surgery (orthognathic surgery), oral pathology, and bone grafting. We provide surgery services to Amarillo, TX, and surrounding Panhandle region of Texas. He is an expert in numerous aspects of facial surgery including facial trauma and reconstructive surgery, dental implants, bone grafting, and orthognathic surgery.

What is pericoronitis and what other complications can wisdom teeth cause? How is wisdom teeth extraction performed?

In this 3D video from Clínica Pardiñas (http://j.mp/cPardinas) we talk about pericoronitis and other complications that wisdom teeth and their extraction can cause. Among the main problems we find gum inflammation, extrusion of opposing teeth, cavities, etc. The different positions in which the wisdom teeth can be placed and their implications are represented. Finally, it is shown how to perform a wisdom toth extraction.

How to avoid infection after tooth extraction 👉 http://bit.ly/drysocketDT.

A wisdom tooth that erupts in a bad position can lead to pericoronitis. That is, an infection of the gums that surrounds the wisdom tooth, and whose symptoms include pain, inflammation, bleeding or bad breath. Wisdom tooth extraction solves this problem. But if the opposite tooth is not extracted, as it does not have contact with the lower one, it will gradually extrude, which may cause unwanted premature contact and again an inflammation of the lower gum. If the wisdom tooth is in a horizontal position, it can come into contact with the 2nd molar causing damage that can even end with the loss of both teeth. To remove a wisdom tooth that has not erupted, an incision is made and the overlying bone is released. Sometimes it´s necessary to divide the tooth in different parts, in order to properly remove it. Different materials such as Plasma Rich in Growth Factors can be placed in the alveolus, which accelerates healing.

Wisdom Tooth Removal in Amarillo TX:Carley | Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery of the Panhandle Region - http://panhandleoralsurgery.com

Hi, my name is Carley. I’m from Amarillo, Texas. I needed my wisdom teeth out, and my general dentist referred Dr. Bailey. It was a great experience! Dr. Bailey talked to me about everything I was going to have done, so I wasn’t nervous. The nurses were all really nice to me and made me feel really comfortable during and after the procedure. If people need their wisdom teeth out, I’d tell them to come to Dr. Bailey, because it was a great experience. He made me feel really comfortable with all the procedures he was going to do. I don’t have any problems now that I did before I got them out. Come to see Dr. Bailey, because he’s really great!
