Impacted supernumerary teeth may lead to displacement of the adjacent teeth as well as root resorption and formation of dentigerous cysts just like the case above, the patient was diagnosed coincidentally by Orthodontist.

Turning chisel is a commonly known surgical instrument that is widely used in the dentistry and orthodontics, mainly for the removal of wisdom teeth. Otherwise called as rotary chisel, this instrument is slid by the dentist between the teeth and slowly turned such that the tooth to be removed is displaced from its alveolar socket. Quick movements of the rotary chisel can lead to root fractures.

This time a mesio-angular impacted wisdom tooth.
The piezosurgery allows for a minimally invasive approach to 3rd molar extractions since the tips can be safely used alongside soft tissue flaps. And saline irrigation removes debris and blood around the working area immediately.

I removed 2 x wisdom tooth! 🦷🦷 I was worried since it has been a long time since I last removed any tooth. It wasn't painful at all (thanks to local anaesthetic).

I extracted in Khoo Teck Puat Hospital (KTPH) dental clinic, and it cost $130 for 2 teeth. It is classified as "Extraction Complexity I", which I suppose is the easiest surgery. There is NO hammering nor stitching.

The numb goes away in a few hours. There will be some blood in mouth on the first day, but the following day, it clotted fully and no more blood. Doesn't affect my diet, and I don't miss the 2 teeth at all 😂

REASONS WHY I REMOVE WISDOM TOOTH:

1. Gonna do braces and need the space as they are overcrowded
2. I have the upper molar WITHOUT the lower, so they are useless
3. Hard to brush/floss, so they're always dirty
4. To avoid possible gum infection or decay in the future

Immediate dental implants are fitted straight after extracting one or more teeth, although this does not mean that the dental implants and the teeth are fitted at the same time. When there is a problem with a tooth that means it has to be extracted, for example if the root is cracked, the dental implant can be planned to be fitted immediately after it is extracted without waiting for the wound to heal. This has the advantage of saving time.
